Buying a Home

As part of your application for buying a home, you’ll want to gather:

  • Photo ID
  • Addresses for the past two years
  • Employer name(s), job title(s), and dates of employment for the past two years
  • W-2s for the past two years (as well as 1099s and K1s if applicable)
  • Federal tax returns for the past two years (including all pages and schedules)
  • Business tax returns for the past two years (including all pages and schedules), if applicable (25% or more ownership)
  • Current pay stubs covering the most recent 30-day period
  • Bank statements for the past two months (all numbered pages, even if blank or advertisement)

If you own other real estate that is not being sold:

  • Current mortgage statement
  • If not escrowing, proof of annual homeowners insurance (declarations pages that show annual premium)
  • Current second mortgage or home equity statement, if applicable

Refinancing a Home

As part of your application for refinancing, you’ll want to gather:

  • Photo ID
  • Addresses for the past two years
  • Employer name(s), job title(s), and dates of employment for the past two years
  • W-2s for the past two years (as well as 1099s and K1s if applicable)
